  • Built and leading high-performing cloud architecture teams dedicated to tier-1 telecom customers, including DISH and Charter Communications. Oversaw the architecting, testing, and deployment of DISH's 5G network on AWS, resulting in 20% nationwide coverage within 12 months of project initiation.
  • Created and leading the fixed network segment in AWS Telco business unit. Successfully identified and engaged key lighthouse customers and strategic vendor partners, facilitating their integration into AWS's AI and cloud ecosystem, resulting in significant market expansion and revenue growth.
  • Four invited industry AI panels and keynote presentations in 2024.
  • Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers (SCTE) AI/ML Group vice chair.
  • Authored invited paper 'Building Generative AI Products' as a blueprint for the cable industry.

CableLabs (2007 - 2021)

Distinguished Technologist, Principal Architect, Lead Architect, Senior Engineer

DOCSIS Technology Development
  • Spearheaded the evolution of DOCSIS technology through multiple iterations (3.0, 3.1, 4.0), managing a $10 Billion Total Addressable Market with global deployment. Orchestrated entire product lifecycle from requirement definition and technology development to standardization and testing. Led cross-functional teams of 50-100 industry leaders, including Distinguished Engineers, Fellows, and CTOs from both vendor partners and customers.
  • Co-invented a technology that enables the transmission of LTE signals over cable networks, offering an alternative to DOCSIS. Collaborated with LTE chip vendors to take the invention from concept to prototype (2012-14). This technology is now being developed by major operators (Charter and Rogers) as a viable alternative to DOCSIS 4.0 in 2024.
Mobile and Convergence
  • Led the innovation and development of Low Latency Xhaul (LLX) technology for 5G backhaul over DOCSIS, from concept to field trials. Managed software teams throughout the product lifecycle, driving the transition from initial ideation to successful field implementation. Spearheaded standardization efforts at the ORAN Alliance, ensuring industry-wide adoption and interoperability.
  • Led vendor-operator team to develop and test the delivery of IEEE 1588 timing over DOCSIS for 5G small cell deployments. Built and deployed a cloud-based timing service on AWS.
Unlicensed LTE and 5G
  • Established industry-wide recognition as a technology leader in LTE/5G and Wi-Fi coexistence. Developed and executed comprehensive technical and strategic plans, driving the adoption of "Listen Before Talk (LBT)" coexistence technologies in 3GPP Rel-13 and Rel-14.
  • Served as Vice Chair of the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) LTE-U Group. Led the development and integration of critical performance testing requirements into the LTE-U test plan. Strategically guided industry-wide standards that safeguarded over 20 million Service Provider Wi-Fi networks globally, ensuring product quality and interoperability at scale.
